Background and Experience
Steve founded GrowthForce in 2004 in Kingwood, Texas with a desire to help small businesses grow. An innovator in the accounting industry, Steve has enabled small businesses to access systems, expertise and services typically available only to Fortune 500 companies.
His experience with system design, best practices and management services spans nearly three decades. As an entrepreneur himself, Steve has a passion for helping small service businesses reach their growth potential. A highly energetic and motivational leader, Steve has built GrowthForce into the largest outsourced bookkeeping and controller service in Houston with eyes on national expansion.
Before opening GrowthForce, Steve was the president of Administaff Financial Management Services (FMS) division for two years. The division was created from the acquisition of a business called Virtual Growth Incorporated which Steve founded in 1995 in New York City. Prior to the acquisition by Administaff, Virtual Growth was the leading outsourced accounting service for small business in the country.
Previous to Virtual Growth, Steve spent seven years working for Amnesty International USA during its heyday in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. There he managed the organization’s tremendous growth as its CFO and then honed his fund raising skills as its chief development officer.
The experience reinforced Steve’s life-long commitment to giving back to the community through charitable causes. He has been a dedicated board member of many non-profit organizations helping them with their finances and fund-raising. When not coaching businesses, Steve enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams. He strives to be a role model to his employees by spending time in his garden and having the proper work-life balance.
