In this issue of eNews we share a new recession busting way to save money on delivery costs, this month’s Vistage tip, updates on what’s new at GrowthForce, as well as our upcoming events. Please enjoy the newsletter, and some well deserved holiday time off.
Year End Checklists
Santa’s making a list and checking it twice, and you should too! We recommend that businesses complete their own year-end checklist as part of their annual best business practices. Here are lists for each member of your team to help get you started.
1. First is the CEO checklist. Its time to evaluate 2009 actual results, and finish the 2010 budget. Click here to see our GrowthForce list and get started now so you can check it off your new years resolution list.
2. QuickBooks has its own year-end guide, built right inside QuickBooks. From the help menu of any recent version you can choose the Year-End guide and get a checklist that looks like this:

Click here for the whole list. It will help you get your QuickBooks file in order before the new year comes and goes
3. CPA & Controller year-end closing checklist. If you are a CPA that closes your clients books, or are a Controller responsible for performing month-end closing activities, you will want to check out our “Closing Your Books at Year-End.” check-list, click here.
4. Payroll checklist. If you run your own payroll then you need to know about the Intuit Quickbooks Payroll Year End Center. Get year-end “how to’s”, forms, updates and calendars when you click here.
5. Tax planning check list. With changes in the tax rates likely for 2010, its particularly important to make sure you meet with your CPA to do year-end tax planning. Click here for a great resources from Vistage to help make sure you get ready for that meeting as there are a number of tax cuts that are about to expire.

GrowthForce named an Intuit “National Account”
GrowthForce was recently named one of only thirty-five “National Accounts” for Intuit. The company was chosen from over 350 Intuit Solutions Providers "because of its growth potential" says BJ Schaknowski, Intuit VP Intuit Solution Provider. "We've chosen a select group of Intuit Solution Providers, that serve clients all across the country, to be part of a team to help fuel our growth. We're excited to have GrowthForce as part of that team."
Being a national account provides greater access to Intuit senior management and resources. GrowthForce will now be able to tap into the extensive resources of Intuit for our clients and channel partners. We’re already seeing a difference in our ability to help our clients with advanced Quickbooks issues.
GrowthForce named one of the HBJ Fast Tech 50

Stephen King, the President and CEO of GrowthForce accepted the honor of being named #39 on the Houston Business Journal’s Fast Tech 50 list of 2009 on November 4th. GrowthForce was one of 20 first time honorees named at the ceremony. GrowthForce, which was established in 2004, fell into a group of 36 companies founded after 2000; making the 2009 Fast Tech 50 the youngest group of companies ever to be selected.
GrowthForce’s remarkable growth has been twice recognized by the Houston Business Journal this year. Most recently, the firm was named to the 2009 HBJ Houston Fast 100 Power Five in September and we look forward to making the list again next year.
